Job Title Office Assistant II
Nature of Work

Provide support in the athletic department. Must be able to handle confidential information and demonstrate proficient computer skills using various software programs. Professional customer service and organizational skills are necessary requirements

Examples of Work Performed

Essential Duties:
1. Accesses various forms of information in order to compose, type and prepare routine correspondence, reports, forms and related materials.
2. Reviews and monitors operational forms for accuracy and compliance with established guidelines; generates or produces reports and documents; records, transcribes and distributes meeting minutes.
3. Answers general and operational requests for information either in person or over the telephone; greets and directs visitors, students and staff; receives and routes correspondence and messages; opens, sorts and distributes mail.
4. Maintains office files, records and inventory of supplies; prepares and records payroll documents for student workers or employees.
5. Compiles and summarizes information and prepares standard forms and routine reports.
6. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Education:
High School degree or equivalent, supplemented by general clerical or business coursework and one to two years of clerical experience or any combination of skills, knowledge and abilities that meet these requirements.

Experience:
Any combination of education, training and work experience that will enable the incumbent to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Normally, people who perform this work in organizations will have knowledge of a set of standardized practices, procedures, rules or operations plus one year of clerical experience. In addition, the incumbent will normally be able to type at the rate of 40 wpm. The ability to use standard office equipment and software (ex: Microsoft Office products) required.
