Nature of Work

Graduate Assistants are hired at Chadron State College to assist in meeting the vision and goals established for CSC. Strategic deployment of graduate assistant positions is essential to ensure that limited resources are utilized in a manner consistent with the philosophy of CSC. Graduate assistants provide experiential learning in select areas and to assist the individual in a successful transition to future educational and professional opportunities.

Examples of Work Performed

Responsibilities include but are not limited to assist the Strength and Conditioning coach with:

Supervision of the weight room

Monitoring athletes workouts and conditioning programs

Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Completed Bachelor’s degree

Conditionally accepted or accepted application to the CSC graduate program

Ability to work on the Chadron State College main campus

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications, communication skills, attention to detail, time management skills, positive attitude, sense of urgency, and work ethic; additional preferred certifications from one or more of the following CSCCA, SCCC; NSCA, CSCS; USAW.

Physical Demands
Salary Information $3,200 per semester and tuition waiver - does not include student fees
