Job Title Graduate Assistant (NBDC)
Nature of Work

Graduate Assistants are hired at Chadron State College to assist in meeting the vision and goals established for CSC. Strategic deployment of graduate assistant positions is essential to ensure that limited resources are utilized in a manner consistent with the philosophy of CSC. Graduate assistants provide experiential learning in select areas and to assist the individual in a successful transition to future educational and professional opportunities.

Examples of Work Performed

Primary Duties:
Attending and participating in the regularly scheduled meetings.
Working on Neoserra, recording client and contact information and providing research completed on behalf of clients
Providing assistance to the NBDC Head Business Consultant
Sending written correspondence to clients regarding the initial contact and research.
Preparing and coordinating workshops, conferences, and staff meetings to promote the NBDC effectively.

Secondary Duties:
Occasional travel as requested by the NBDC Head Business Consultant.
Updating NBDC website, www.csc.edu/nbdc, especially making sure all links are correct.
Assisting with administrative filing, record keeping, and documentation for files.
Doing other assignments or projects as directed (e.g. reporting, researching, promotion, and technology assistance).
Completing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Completed Bachelor’s degree
Conditionally accepted or accepted to CSC graduate program and seeking a Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Ability to work on the Chadron State College main campus
Strong research and writing skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, i.e., Excel, Word, Publisher
Ability to maintain confidentiality

Professional attitude
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Prior small business knowledge
Ability to work independently and with others

Salary Information $3,200 per semester and tuition waiver - does not include student fees
