Nature of Work

Graduate Assistants are hired at Chadron State College to assist in meeting the vision and goals established for CSC. Strategic deployment of graduate assistant positions is essential to ensure that limited resources are utilized in a manner consistent with the philosophy of CSC. Graduate assistants provide experiential learning in select areas and to assist the individual in a successful transition to future educational and professional opportunities.

Examples of Work Performed

Advise and assist international students with the admission, orientation and
enrollment process
Support international students recruitment and retention efforts
Support services for international student excursions as needed
Oversee the Mentor/Mentee Program and Ambassador programs
Support the Host Family Program for International students
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Completed Bachelor’s degree
Conditionally accepted or accepted application to CSC graduate program
Successful background records check
Driver’s License
Satisfactory driving record check
Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
Ability to work both independently and as a team member
Sensitivity to and the ability to work with international students, parents and
others of different cultures
Excellent organizational and time management skills
